Our Vision
A multigenerational, inclusive, and justice-centered community centered on the development and preservation of Judaica and other Jewish artistic traditions.
Jewish life and ritual are bound to the material and sensorial realms—on Shabbat we make Kiddush on a cup overflowing with wine, and at its close, we mark the beginning of the week with the lighting of a specially braided Havdalah candle.
The practice of Judaism requires and is enriched by Judaica (Jewish ceremonial art). Yet knowledge of Judaica production is limited and, in many cases, restricted to a few specialist artisans based on gender, level of halachic observance, and location.
Our Mission:
To develop an expansive understanding of Jewish literacy that celebrates the motions, rituals, and sensorial experiences at the core of Judaism's daily expression.
To democratize the knowledge and practice of Judaica production through education and community building.
